InsideVancouver.ca: Vancouver In a Day - Street Food City
Looking for some adventure? You've come to the right city. No matter what time of year, when you start your day in Vancouver, it can take you anywhere.
One of my favourite new things to do in Vancouver is a walking tour to try out the food carts and food stalls in the downtown core. This kind of tour is a foodie's dream because it involves as many stops as your appetite can handle.
A deluxe BBQ kabob on Georgia Street, a tuna taco on Burrard Street, gourmet grilled cheese on Howe Street...and on and on goes the list. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, right?
So here's the deal: although Vancouver street food carts are highly concentrated in a five square block district of downtown, they also appear in other parts of the city.
To help you navigate your way around the city, try downloading the Street Food Vancouver App for your smart phone by Tatlow Park Software. This app will provide you with a real time map identifying your location in relation to the nearest carts, as well as show you which carts are open for business.
The street food here isn't just popcorn, pretzels and hot dogs anymore. It's as diverse and innovative as Vancouver's celebrated dining scene. While you're sightseeing and traveling between Vancouver attractions, make sure you stop and give our street eats a try.
